A Glimpse at Japanese Temple Geometry
We will examine some of the beautiful geometry problems from Japan's native mathematics art of sangaku (wooden tablets engraved with geometry problems hung under the roofs of shrines and temples, from the period of 1639--1854). We will relate it to the way we teach and do geometry today.
