The GOLDEN ANNIVERSARYCelebrating 50 years of expanding visions of mathematics education.
There will be over 130 presentations covering all grade levels and major math subjects and led by education experts, with an emphasis on timely topics such as the Common Core State Standards, response-to intervention (RTI) strategies, and other hot topics like differentiated instruction and technology in the classroom CONFERENCE TIMELINE Thursday, October 13, 2011

SESSION (60 minutes) represents a common format where the speaker relates his or her ideas to an audience. The speaker may use audiovisual equipment, technology, and handouts. He or she may include audience participation. Rooms are set theater style and vary in size. WORKSHOP (90 minutes) allows participants to have extensive, hands-on experiences and to leave with supporting materials. Workshops, set in a round-table format, will be limited to 30 participants. GALLERY WORKSHOP (90 minutes) allows some participants to have hands-on experiences and to leave with supporting materials. Workshops, set in a round-table format, will be limited to 30 participants with seating around the room to observe for additional attendance. MINI-COURSE (120 minutes) allows for a more in-depth examination of topic and participants will leave with supporting materials. Mini-courses, set in round-table format, will be limited to 30 participants. Pre Conference Mini-courses have a fee of $15.00. MATH-A-RAMA (25 minutes) Friday, October 14 11:00-3:00 by: Western Oregon University and others Elementary and middle school teachers will have the opportunity to attend 12 different sessions. (6 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon). The themes will include: Number, Operations, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Algebraic Reasoning, and Probability and Statistics. Participants may attend any of the 25-minute sessions in any order. Participants may enter and leave during the breaks between sessions. |
